Steven E. Gaede MD, is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Oklahoma and received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. 

He completed a Neurology and General Surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and his neurosurgical residency at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Dr. Gaede is a Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Tulsa.

Dr. Gaede's areas of special interest include:

Dr. Gaede has received additional training, including the use of
CyberKnife, minimally invasive spine surgery, the operating microscope, stereotactic brain surgery, and spinal instrumentation for cervical, thoracic and lumbar fixation.

Dr. Gaede was named one of thirty investigators nation wide in the trial of neuro augmentative therapy for Parkinson's and essential tremors.  

Dr. Gaede did extensive research in 1984-1985, developing multi-disciplinary protocols for blood brain barrier disruption in the treatment of intracranial tumors.

Dr. Gaede is a member of the American Medical Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association, the American Association of Neurosurgical Surgeons, the Congress of Neurosurgical Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the Tulsa County Medical Society.  He was board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 1991, and became a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons in 1993.  

Dr. Gaede has staff privileges at St. John Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital, Hillcrest Medical Center, SouthCrest Medical Center and Tulsa Spine and Specialty Hospital.
